YumBunny.com: Crowd Source Dating

Yumbunny.com is a new online Dating website, but with a twist, they use the power of the crowd to match people up. I have had one very very close website idea to this which is an Online Betting website concept. It’s definitely something different from the typical dating websites which matches people based on their similarities. It is somehow a hybrid between a traditional online dating website and Hot or Not (where people rate a picture’s “hotness” from 0 – 10). How it works …

… is that it matches people thru similarities (like music, hobby etc.). And the crowd decides if you’re “Yum” (their meaning of great together) or not. So it is thru voting that matches are finalized, and as a user you get to review and choose the best matches for you and decide to talk to them (costs $2.99 unlimited conversation).

Another interesting feature here is how they have made people “in a relationship” involved in the dating game (Not the wrong idea). Users that are in a relationship will work as a match maker and match people up. Future features include a leader (Score) board and Stats which will make it really really interesting (Imagine having the title of being the best match maker ever).

Overall, I love the concept and how innovative they are with features and how the crowd could be involved. However, charging for matches (conversation) to be made might be a questionable feature (as most of the hard work are done by users), but its effectivity is yet to be seen.
