I’ve invested really heavy in .PH domain names, I was very happy that I was able to get premium ccTLDs. Although the internet is still picking up, I recommend that we hold on and renew our domain names.
Philippines has always been a very tech savvy country, we’ve been crowned with having the text (SMS) capital of the world. The biggest barrier I believe is accessibility, which ISPs (internet service provider) and mobile network companies are solving thru the upgrading and lowering the costs of internet to end consumers. So with the rise of internet will lead to more traffic to search engines and locally directing traffic to ccTLDs (.PH domain names).
– Politicians are doing digital campaigns –
Politicians are also doing their fair share of increasing awareness, by doing their political campaigns online and encouraging others to come and join them there. A good example is no to conass facebook campaign which gained a good coverage in the media. The media is getting their news from the internet particularly from youtube. Charice Pempenco and Arnel Pineda has become worldwide celebrities which were discovered thru the use yof YouTube. Media news have been increasingly using and looking for interesting stories online to cover. This just means that PH users are going to use and spend more time online that the local businesses will soon start to see the movements online and also start investing on our local .PH domain names.
Although the world is technically in recession, the Philippines isn’t hit so bad. Economists are even optimistic that it is the emerging markets that will take the center stage. My point here is that as we develop our economy, technology will catch up and PH domain names will be in demand.
I myself have been trying to coordinate with .PH domainers to be able to meet and discuss how we could raise awareness and how we can develop these domain names. I hold several domain names and I’m personally looking for local Filipino web 2.0 developers that I could partner with and develop great domain names, so contact me if you have a website idea and we could partner.
Sooner or later, .PH domain names will increase in value. I’m anticipating it to rise by 2011 where .PH domain names will rise in value dramatically.

Do you have developed .ph/.com.ph domains?
@Lily: I’m currently developing some of mine. It should be out by this year or early next year
The only problem with our local extension .PH is that too unaffordable, imagine its price you already get a 2-3 domains like .com .net and .org
So whose Filipino web developer can afford it? Even this site using .com !
@Boo: I’ve answered the comment here
