Domainers are being forced to develop their domain names to profit. But as Domainers have hundreds or thousands of domain names in their portfolio, where do we start to develop? Developing a domain name takes time and with that much, you could be wasting your time on one domain name than the other…
… The biggest problem with developing large domain name portfolio is that we have so little time and so many domain names to develop. So it’s best to spend out time wisely and target the ones that are ‘better’. So how do we determine which ones are better?
Type-In traffic
One thing that I do when I buy or register domain names is that I park them (even if they don’t earn that much), why? well aside from a few cents that could probably make up a payout in the far future, it is the stats of the number of type-in traffic that I get everyday. This could really help choose.
– Check which one has the highest Unique views –
So like the screenshot above, you’ll know which domain names are in demand. So from there you could choose which ones are good.
Google Keyword Tool External
Google gives really great and free tools available for everyone to use. One of the most important tool that they have is Google Keyword Tool External, it helps us check how many people type in the exact keyword of our domain name and how much advertisers are competing for that keyword.
– See the number of search Queries –
As you can see from the screenshot above, you could see how many people are searching for certain keywords both locally and globally. Note that if you own a ccTLD, make sure to switch it from USA to the local country. Post the keywords of your domain names and uncheck the synonyms and see which one has the highest searches and advertisers.
Local Advertisers / knowledge
If you are on the same industry, professional of that topic, or have a network in a particular topic then it could be best for you to start there. Knowing a lot about a topic will help you get to a good development path that they’ll actually need and could grow fast. What’s also good about this is that you already have advertisers or paying members who’d be interested locally.
