When I first started to find domaining really interesting, what I first did was to find who else are Filipino domainers in the Philippines. It was very difficult, not much stories or names to point to who are the Filipino domainers that exist in the search engines. I was taken aback and thought where are the Filipino Domainers?…
… I was able to read one Filipino’s domaining story (thru an interview, can’t remember where I found the story or who it was) where he apparently makes around $8000+ thru domain name parking only. He was a lucky person to have invested in the 90′s and has risked a lot and got rewarded greatly.
So where are the others? Slowly I was able to meet other domainers like the Iglesia brothers which were very nice and supportive. Their insights and experiences are very inspiring when I was starting up and I look up to them with high respects. There’s also King.net, who have been a very successful Filipino domainer that has held very high quality domain names (including his own domain name King.NET, which is worth at least a good hundred thousand dollar). There’s also Andre Tanner, which I’ve been seeing a lot in .PH domain names. He has invested quite a lot of really good generic keyword .PH and has been developing his names ever since.
– Most want to keep it on the low –
There isn’t much people in this field and if ever there were, they’d like to keep it on the low. I totally understand why they do it, they’d like to make money for themselves alone (which is exactly what we all want) and keep the secret so they can maximize their profit or have less competitors. But if you look at the larger picture, if we all share and help each other out, our domain names would have more value. Value thru awareness, when people spread it to people they know, and more investments injected in our industry which will create more opportunities. I think we all need to open up to benefit ourselves, as well as, the community.
If you’re a Filipino domainer, please contact me here. It would be nice to know more Filipinos in the same industry and hopefully we all could help each other out.

Francis,
I’m a developer and domaining is a sideline for me. I like what you hinted on your blog about possibilities of complementing each other’s business. It would be great to hear from you soon.
