Most businesses, these days, use technology to make their businesses more efficient and more productive. So I started to think where else could we apply technology in businesses? I happened to be reading a lot on Public Relations lately, and all I see online is the amount of (text / image) press releases. My idea was to provide a way for companies to have a live press conference online, where the press or public could log in and watch the whole press conference streamed at the comfort of their own screens. Here’s how it works…
… just like online video chatting, a member would use a camera for streaming the video online. The video will be in real time where the press or the public could watch as it happens.
User (Business)
- Stream video from their camera or web cam
- Chose whether the stream is for private or public viewing
- Admin control on when and who to allow for questions
User (Press / Public)
- Watch press conferences online
- Ask questions during a live press conference
- Comment on recorded press conferences
System
- Stream video
- Ability for the user to chose to stream the video or record to show on latter dates or both.
- User Commenting
- Admin control for User (Business) on Press conference to chose which questions to answer.
- Separate press list and public user list
Revenue
- Per Press Conference Fee
- Advertising (Free Users)
- Pay Per Click
- Premium (Monthly)
- Freemium business model
- Monthly Membership fee package (X number of press conferences allowed)
- Press Database (Invite press that the website has contact of, which are members of the website).
Some unclear thoughts:
- Web hosting requirements could be high
- The system must be efficient to handle hundreds if not thousands of users viewing a online press conference.
- How much would a press conference cost to a business
