I’ve been a big fan of business websites, and compared to spending tons on magazines or books on business (I’m guilty on buying loads), the internet provides free resources online. I’ve covered a website called smarta before, which was a more of a one stop shop of doing business in the UK. So I started thinking, where do we find resources for other countries?…
… I found that the information was scattered across the web thru different websites and blogs. It’s very hard to find resources and spend a lot of time searching as opposed to being able to get the right information that I wanted. So the main idea here is to have a resource for a specific local area (state, province or country) and make it easy for everyone to open a business in that area. So here’s what I thought of:
System
- Business news thru RSS of local news sources (Newspapers / Blogs)
- Legal Section
- Government regulations announcement (any changes implemented)
- Government Requirements (Registrations, Permits, etc.)
- Contracts (Internal, External etc.)
- Being able to provide free contract templates for Members.
- Marketing Section
- Marketing Strategies
- Marketing trends
- Press Releases
- Business Video Pitches
- Finance Section
- Tips on Finance
- Computations on taxes, and other Government payables.
- Management Section
- Management Strategies
- Tips on dealing with local people
- Business Directory
- Community
- Forum / Discussion Board (per section like Facebook’s)
- Integrated with Facebook and Open Social
User
- Interact with others in the community
- Private Messaging
- Contribute to news (screened by community, administrators or owner?)
- Digg like voting for news on each category
- Submit company at the local area (Business Directory)
- Rating of businesses
Revenue
- Consultants to enlist their services (Commission / Monthly rate)
- Local advertisements
- Job Board
- Organizing Events
Some Unclear Thoughts:
- With a lot of information, designing the website would be a tough job
- There are other categories that I still haven’t added, I have just placed what I had in mind.
- Looking for experts in the area that would be willing to contribute
- Pay per click advertisements?
