u2ws: domain name / website valuation tool and website analyzer in one.
I’ve been very interested in websites that help other websites to measure or put a valuation on another website or domain name, what I found was that every one of them has different ways of valuation. What’s great is that it shows people different ways of looking at their websites and find ways to improve it. One website / domain name valuator and analyzer that I found recently is called u2ws. What’s great about it…
… is that it has tools that cover valuing your website or domain names and helping you analyze certain aspects of the websites. The analyzer includes PageRank checker (Google), Traffic Checker & Traffic Details (Alexa), BackLinks (Google, Yahoo & Live), and Website Geolocation. What I like about the website / domain name valuation tool is that it doesn’t only give a certain value, but instead it goes to different valuation tools and gives you all the values that they give for your website / domain name. I found it interesting as well that these valuation websites gives really distant results from each other (TechFilipino was valued at $12526 but on other valuation websites it was valued at $2000 or even as low as $300).
The websites / domain name analyzers are very helpful to check the traffic details and links to your website, it’s useful for centralizing all traffic details and give you an overview of how well you’re doing with your website traffic. However, I’ve tried checking on the factors that affect the value, but it doesn’t seem to show the details on how they came up with the results (and also found that it copies the valuation of the webvaluer website). I still find stimator‘s valuator more accurate and detailed, there needs to be an explanation to give users a way to improve their websites. As to the tools, it’s still quite limited yet sufficient for traffic analysis. But I still prefer using PageBoss as it offers a much more overview (more website overviews) and deeper analysis.
Overall, It’s great that this website does a comparison with other website valuators and shows an overview of what other websites value your website / domain name. However, a lot of improvement needs to be done, transparency is what web 2.0 is about and that’s what the users need. This service is great to just have a benchmark but not so much on giving detailed analysis. This website needs to justify results and need to be more transparent to its users, it also needs to add different factors for measurement (traffic is not only a way to measure value of website / domain name).
