With unemployment going up in numbers, more and more people use the web to search for new jobs. And as Twitter rises to be one of the ‘web powers’, it won’t be long before a job related website application comes out. TweetLancers is that application, what it does is that it allows users to post jobs using Twitter and pastes it in their website. What’s really cool about it…
… is that it allows users (companies, need work to be done) to post jobs and get freelancers to apply to their jobs (add TweetlancersJOB in your Tweet) and it also allows users (freelancers) to post ‘wanted’ work so companies could contact them (add TweetLancersCV in your Tweet). And the cost? None, it’s FREE. The jobs are then listed in the homepage of their website, and people could look thru the list to check jobs available.
I found that the owner of the website is the same as DNTwits (which I’ve previously covered). Like DNTwits, it seems pretty new with only a few posts. It would be great to have a search function integrated to the website, with more advanced search as well to track specific searches. RSS feeds would also be a nice addition, so users could check new jobs in their own emails or RSS readers.
Overall, I love the concept. It’s a really simple concept that could be improved as more functions are added. With lots of unemployment in the world (especially in the IT sector), job websites are going to see a boost in visits. However, it’s still very new and not really a proven method yet. Only time will tell how this website would do, I support the cause and hope this will work out.
