SuperChirp: Pay and Subscribe to my Twitter Account, Make money out of your Twitter account

Twitter is getting more and more users each day and is already given a valuation of around $1.7 Billion, where investors believe the next big thing will be. But when Monetization is in question, there’s only two other websites that I’ve seen that users can use to monetize their Twitter accounts. Here comes the third one with a more simple and unique approach as to how we can monetize our Twitter accounts which is SuperChirp. What’s different about it…

… is that unlike the other two which displays advertisements or taps into your user account to tweet products or services, SuperChirp uses the subscription based business model. It is, however quite flexible, as using SuperChirp means tweeting paid content out to your subscribers and you can still tweet normally with Twitter. The interface is very simple and is much like Twitter, except that it is green and is designed horizontally (vs. twitter’s 2 column design). The pricing is great as users get to set their prices (from $0.99 to $9.99 / month) and the user retains 70% of the revenue while Superchirp gets 30%. Payout is thru Paypal and minimum payout is $20.

 

Overall, it’s a nice new concept, where they solve the problem of Twitter becoming too noisy (try adding a good few hundred of followers). However, the concept of Twitter was free information sharing, so I’m a bit doubtful on this project on one hand and on the other hand I see that this is where professional content could be published and more quality paid ‘chirps’ can be well appreciated by a lot of people. It’ll be very interesting to see how this application would progress over time and it could be an Twitter application / monetization shaker by offering monetization plans for users.
