Most of the minisites that I know that was built by domainers are usually made to get traffic thru SEO, but Search Engines these days have better algorithms and able to weed out “spamâ€. Minisites were known for being left alone barely checked, with no fresh contents, sooner or later your minisite should drop in rankings right? So are minisites still a good idea?…
… Minisites were my favorite development strategy, the best thing is that its easy and fast to make, with the help of a good keyword domain, it gets traffic fast. The best thing about it that everyone talks about is the passive income element, which can get you a regular stream of income as you get traffic. But with the highlight on SEO, I noticed some of the good minisites I own are starting to decrease in traffic as no new contents are added.
– Are minisites a good development strategy? –
Are minisites still a good idea? I believe so, it’s still the best way to measure and see how well a domain will shoot off if it was developed. Also if you were lucky to find a good niche topic that not a lot of SEO experts and developers then you can rank highly without needing to update very often. Some topics I found have really done well for me, but of course I can’t divulge anymore as more competitors can render it useless. If you were going to maintain it regularly, it might be a better idea to have less domains that you can focus on to get quality. You’ll find minisites will soon be like blog sites.
Today, I can see the limitations of the power of domains but nonetheless, the push that it brings to the table is priceless. You can pay Hundreds or thousands to ads but the quality of traffic will still be different to natural SEO.
