Scoopler: Real Time Search Engine

scooplerlogo Scoopler: Real Time Search EngineWe’re all familiar with searching in search engines (right??), so we search and we see results. However, the results we see there are not real time results (matching results as it happens). Scoopler is here to change all that, by providing real time search results from the web. What’s great about it…

… is that it checks updates on the web (videos, links, images and Twitter). It’s real time so when you do go to the page, you’ll notice that it will keep updating itself as new results come out.

The results are displayed in such a clear manner that it’s very clear to distinguish the Twitter and web results (but emphasis given to Twitter). It also displays your history of search (great for tracking your searches) and shows you hot topics that are being discussed on the web right now. The simplicity and clarity of the interface is really nice, it’s pleasant to look at and really helps you understand the results better. However, I found that Real time results doesn’t necessarily mean that the content is relevant. I found that it based it from keyword search results, which could *be* irrelevant at times (e.g. search for ‘apple’, I found results pertaining to apple juice).

Overall, I think there’s a big future for real time search results. However, certain generic words that are searched here could potentially give irrelevant results. It needs to still refine and deliver the good results in real time before this concept could really take off. It’s not going to be easy, it’s going to be a big project and would require big hardware to support this, but it’s definitely pointing to the right direction.
