Looking at the opportunities in the CCTLD (Country-Code Top Level Domain Names), a lot of the more popular generic CCTDs (like .CO.UK, .IN, .CN …) have been registered. I personally made my own list that I wanted to register and found that out of the 400+ words that I searched, most are taken. But today I present to everyone the opportunity to invest in a great domain name in the Philippines (.PH). These are the reasons why I believe .PH will be a good investment in the future:
(The details for the PH Domain name club is listed after this article…). You can register you PH domain Names here
1. Philippines is the 12th most populous nation
– Philippines Map –
Â
Philippines is the the 12th most populated countries in the world, with 92.23 Million people (According to National Statistics Office, Philippines). The amount of internet users as of 2008 (by Yahoo) is at 20,000,000 people (in the Philippines alone, excluding Overseas Filipino Workers) and is expected to increase in 2010 by 20%. The reasons for this is:
2. English is the Main language
– We Speak English –
Â
We are very westernized, Tagalog and English is our main languages, as our education is using American Education System. People surf the web using the English language, as a matter of fact, blogs in the Philippines have been one of the regular web startups that Filipinos do. Apparently 1 in 3 Filipinos own their own blogs (Yahoo).
3. Filipinos are Tech Savvy
– Filipinos are Tech and internet surfing lovers –
Â
Filipinos, in general, love technology. We’re very tech savvy and loves to explore new things. As a matter of fact, Philippines is the text (SMS) capital of the world and is one of the majority users of Friendster and Multiply. There are also 6.3 million online gamers in the Philippines and is expected to increase 58.4% annually (Internet World Statistics).
4. Search Engines use the Domain name of PH
– Try to go to Google.com or Yahoo.com –
The 2 of the 3 top search engines use the localized domain name of the country, so whenever we go to Google or Yahoo, it automatically redirects us to Google.com.ph or Yahoo.com.ph. Search Engines rank CCTLD (.PH) higher and gives more priority in the search results.
5. Lots of Premium Domain names are still available
– 3, 4, 5 character 1 word premium domain names available –
Premium Domain names are readily available, costing $35 / year for the registration fee (different pricing for bulk). I was able to register really great premium domain names, in the 3-4-5 character domain names (I got a lot of 3 character word domain names). In the future, as the TLD (Top Level Domain Names) become more scarce and values go up, people are eventually going to move to CCTLD (.PH).
6. Appreciation of value
– Value goes up –
With the good TLD’s going scarce, people are eventually moving towards the CCTLD market. And as this happens the value of the CCTLD appreciates. As a matter of fact, the highest recorded sale of a .PH domain name was at $1,000.
I’m campaigning for the .PH, as I’m investing a lot of my own personal money into these domain names. I would like to set up a PH domain name owners club, where we all could discuss the way PH domain names and help develop and raise the values of our domain names together. If you’re interested in investing or would like to join the PH domain name club please let me know by contacting me here.
