Original Pitch Venture Capital (OPVC), a new local VC firm, started by entrepreneurs to help fellow entrepreneurs, just launched last August 13, 2o16 at WeCube Inc (Coworking space / collaborative eco-system in Makati). OPVC envisions to help enable startups to reach their full potential regardless of sector or industry, and eighteen (18) startups have been selected to pitch at OPVC’s launch.

There were 50 companies that joined ranging from tech, real estate, health care, trasportation and education, but only 18 were selected to pitch on the day. Each company presented their ideas and funding requirement to boost their business in from of the OPVC partners.

College Division:

 

1st Place:       Chromewell (StillFresh)

 Chromewell

Food Spoilage Alert Technology

 

Chromewell provides consumers and businesses with an indicator for spoilage in the form of a strip, that helps detect whether the food is still safe for consumption. The team behind thisare Jefferson Eisma, Jayne Arriola,  Joseph Doroja, Carmela Dy, Jomar Montemayor, and Samantha Tenco.

 

2nd Place:      Primo

Online Marketplace for Premium Trading

 

Primo aims to centralize all the premium items being sold on classifieds and e-commerce websites, where they can help facilitate the transactions and help weed out bad buyers / sellers that everyone complains about online. Primo provides both buyers and sellers this one organized platform where they can meet and be able to find and sell desired premium items without any risks and doubts. The company is led by Ateneo students Miel Soriano, Cara Paguio, and Jacob Echague.

Bus Cash Card RFID Technology

 

JourneyTech will make it easier for consumers and buses to operate by providing a cash card technology similar to Beep. The system also has ticketing and other system which will help buses operate more effectively and efficiently. One of the company’s biggest advantages is the core knowledge and expertise of its founder, Donavan Yu, on the bus industry.

Manpower Recruitment Platform for Hospitality Sector

 

ServeHappy.PH is a job board platform catering to the manpower requirements of the Hospitality and Travel sector. Some additional features include a part-timer platform and social media recruitment, which will help make it easy for people to apply for jobs. The company is led by Audrey Tanco Uy and John Imbong.

 

3rd Place:      Wishy

Online Wedding Gift Registry Platform

 

Wishy is a crowdsourcing platform for couples to receive gifts for their wedding. They help couples by allowing them to withdraw the fund in cash and buy the items themselves, which saves them the hassle should they want to relocate in other places. The company is founded by Jedd Lim and Joanne Atienza.

 

4th Place:       Incubix

Dev House: Dev Outsourcing & Product Builder

 

Incubix is led by 2 Fil-Ams from New York, which aims to make the Philippines the main hub for IT outsourcing in web, mobile and gaming. The company has several online assets which allows them to license this to big companies like PLDT which needs content in their business. The company is founded by John San Pedro and Bong Alorro.

 

5th Place:       Dibz

AirBnb for Parking

 

Dibz is the airbnb for parking space, that allows drivers to book a parking before they get to the place which saves time and makes money for the parking owner. Parking is one of the biggest problem in Manila and they aim to tap the private parking spaces which gives them a huge market. The company is founded by Donald Saurombe and Leeroy Livy.
