Business, nowadays, are pushing really hard to get into the word of mouth marketing via online communities. They strive hard pushing people to visit their Facebook pages or follow them in Twitter and talk about them, but not everyone becomes viral, and a lot of them fail at it. I believe that they need to revamp their online and offline marketing strategies, and I had a business idea where Offline Marketing intersects with Online Marketing in Word of mouth…

While Businesses look at marketing like online vs offline marketing which really shouldn’t be, it should be a harmony between both. I find that very few can connect their online andoffline marketing. So this business idea that I’m sharing would help bridge the gap between the online and offline world. So here’s my idea:

A service that provides Subsidized Consumer shopping in exchange of online social word of mouth marketing.

Offline Marketing that meets Online marketing

Here’s how I thought this could work: A company creates a platform where in the consumers get discounts in exchange for liking or following, sharing about the brand or what they bought. So the company saves money on online and offline advertising and instead rewards the consumers / buyers with the money saved with their contribution for their advertising. Now, discounts maybe given depending on the number of friends or number of friends in the area and what they share (either the brand or what they purchased or something creative). There are just so many ways around it and there’s a huge possibility of being viral, and you reward the people that make your brand, your customers.

It’s a very rough idea but I’m sure, someone with the right mind can refine or twist this idea to make it work. Of course, it’s never easy, otherwise I would’ve done it myself, but it is technologically challenging for me and for most people. So to anyone that does it, I’d very much love to hear how it works out for you.
