Website Idea: New Online Dating + Auction Idea

Online Dating Websites are quite common these days, what they do is simply matching people up. Our Gang started to think differently, so we came up with the idea of matching people up in a way of auction. Now I know what you might be thinking, but it’s not that way. Here’s how it works:

In dating, we believe people put their best foot forward and just like relationship there’s also efforts involved in dating. So in this case bidding is the effort, it could be based on Personality, Looks, Location, Financial Status, Family Status / Background, etc… These “Factors” will be given with a series of test to the users. A user can then place themselves up for bidding by simply putting the details of what they look for using the said Factors. The detailed ‘What they look for’ will not be shown in the bidding, But just a simple overview. Users can bid their “Factors”, for example: bidding their personality plus location or looks and Financial Status, the user will set up to how many “Factors” a user can bid for. If the user cannot decide thru the factors, he/she could post questions to be answered. But, in the end, the user gets to choose the top few whom he/she could go out on a date.

There will be suggested venue to date, the users could already pay online so that no more awkward moments on who pays the bill. Users can choose to pay how many percentage of the bill (50 50? 40 60?..) and pay for it online (Possible revenue for the website).

This is still a very very rough idea, what we’re trying to think of is a way to spice up the dating market using out of the box thinking. What do you guys think?
