A lot of us web developers and domainers out there have done our researches on how to optimize our websites for search engines. SEO, however, is not a steady thing, it changes constantly and different factors are added and removed without notice to people. What’s interesting is that the loading speed of a website will soon be part of SEO…

… What we usually see for SEO tips are the keywords, content, images, links etc. But loading speed seems to be the new concept that Google will soon add on to assess different websites for SEO. You have to watch this video interview with Google’s Matt Cutts.

This will affect web hosting in a very big way, reliability (down times) and load speed of the web hosting will soon become very important and could have various prices for different speeds. Also optimizing your website codes will be tougher as you’d have to be more efficient in coding. You can use the Page Speed Firefox plugin, which will be added to the “Firebug” plugin, it will tell you how your website does with regards to your coding. I think its a great thing for Google to include speed in their SEO, but the real question really is to what extent is it going to affect SEO. Coding will have stricter standards and will definitely need a lot of developers to upgrade their skills to take advantage of this SEO changes.
