KaraokeParty: Your online Karaoke party place

karaokepartylogo 300x108 KaraokeParty: Your online Karaoke party placeWe’ve often thought of web 3.0 as cloud computing (everything’s online) and probably has only pictured it on the enterprise side. How about our hobbies or interests being done online? I found a very interesting website called KaraokeParty, it allow users to sing along their favorite karaoke songs online. What’s really cool about it…

… is that it allows users to enjoy karaoke in the comfort of their own homes. The best part about it is that it still is a ‘party’ so you get to have karaoke parties with your friends wherever they are.

One of the greatest features that it has is that it scores karaoke singers with the singing skills that they have. Scores are displayed in the community section of the website, and is great for users to compete to get the highest score for a certain score. For scores to be displayed, you’d have to plug a microphone in your computer. The karaoke even includes the lyrics and shows when to sing the next word. The interface is very straight forward and is clear but has a touch of elegance to it. It also allows full screen display which is really nice.

The best part is that it is free service, so everyone can use it for free. However, certain songs are not available for free members and would have to pay for that extra service (they have around 10 pages of music available). There’s also a arcade party mode where users can have a karaoke with their friends or family in one place and scores are recorded online.

Overall, I like this freemium service, the concept is truly amazing. By using web 3.0 concept of cloud computing and combining it with the freemium business model, it sure will attract a lot of users in the long run. The way the website was designed was very simple and very user friendly to a lot of people. There’s a big future for this website, I can see karaoke establishments might want to get this type of software in their karaoke systems to be updated with the latest music. It would just be a matter of time before this picks up.
