iPad 2 and iPhone HDMI Cables are underway

Currently, to connect your iPad to an external screen requires an HDMI out. Apple sells Apple Digital AV Adapter, which costs around #39 (P1890 in the Philippines), but you’d be needing your own HDMI cable to connect to the TV. Now the good news is that, 3rd party manufacturers are already developing a straight HDMI connector cable that connects your iPhone or iPad 2 straight to the HD TV.
Redmere, a company that manufactures chips to make HDMI smaller, is now going to make the 30 pin connector to HDMI cable for iPad 2 and iPhone (by Cnet). The best part is that you don’t have to carry Apple Digital AV Adaptor and an HDMI cable, you just need to bring their adapter and connect you go. The company expects to release this earliest by July this year and Cnet predicts it’s going to sell at $40 or less. I wonder if this would be possible for my iPad 1? I really can’t wait to see this innovation out in the markets. I’d surely love to have one for my iPhone 4.
