I ended up with BayanDSL as my ISP

Following my quest to find a new ISP supplier, I ended up with BayanDSL. I was trying to find new ones as we have BayanDSL in the office and in the house, I was looking for other ones that might be better service and value. However, I did find that there’s really not too many in the market that offered a type of service that BayanDSL does.

Wi-Tribe Review Conclusion

I first took Wi-Tribe (see my review here), and the service was quite disappointing. What’s even more disappointing is the problem with their sales and tech support, they blame each other for problems when all I wanted was to cancel the service that they couldn’t keep on their end. After weeks of complaining to the hotline, they finally gave me a go signal (saying that the cell site near us was under repair, but, in the beginning, was said to be functioning well). The problem I have now is that the refund I requested is still pending, it’s been 1 month now and I still haven’t gotten my refund.

BayanDSL Experience

So I went ahead and contacted Bayan Tel. I didn’t have to go to their office anymore, instead they sent a messenger to pick up all the requirements and sent me all the forms. The process was fairly easy, except what I didn’t like was that I requested to be informed when they will come and install the modem. And the people just showed up at my place and I had to rush back home in the middle of the day to accommodate them.

What’s cool with the Bayantel promo is that when you get the Bayantel Internet Promo, you get a free Bayantel Phone (landline). So the plan I got was 3 mbps with free landline phone for P2,699 plus P2,000 installation fee. When they installed everything correctly (it took them a while as our home was new and the wirings were hard to find), the speed was reaching 2.6 mbps to 3 mbps (off peak).

I was pretty happy with theBayanDSL promo (Lola Techie still rules!!), it was better than what was offered out there (Globe didn’t have service in our area so I wasn’t able to try). I’m just wondering, when will our ISP’s upgrade their internet speeds? As for the same price on other countries, you could get speeds of 30 – 50 mbps! I hope they would do this soon.

What’s your Experience with BayanDSL?
