More often than not, you’ll find domainers telling you to focus on a few domains than be all over the place and end up with nothing. But it is pretty hard to do, the domain investing game moves so fast, that opportunities open up every single day (sometimes hours) that its just too hard to prevent not giving a little attention to it…

… When you read on blogs about a certain domain selling for millions or thousands or when you have a new idea, you’re suddenly thinking (kaching!), there must be more opportunities in this area. So jump onboard and again divide your focus. Here’s some of the things I do to focus on domaining:

Read blogs but be closed

When you focus, you shouldn’t let any outside factors affect you. But in this case, blogs are a good source of information and inspiration, aside from that forget everything else unless it is related to the domain that you’re developing. When you’re setting out to develop a certain domain then focus, forget about PREMIUMDOMAINNAME.com selling for millions (and you want to buy a similar keyword domain) and just continue development. Remember gathering up domains would just add up to your expenses and might eat up all your revenues.

Deadlines

Give yourself deadlines to meet, like how long will it take for you to develop a domain. What we normally do is just develop a domain regardless of time, you do have to remember that time is money (especially in domaining). When there are deadlines, you’re more likely to finish faster thru being guilty of no finishing or you become competitive.

Develop 1 domain at a time

When I develop my domains, I focus on just one domain at a time. I did try to do 2 at one go but it just sucked and the content was even worse. The worse thing about it was that it took me longer to do 2 at one go than 1 at a time for 2 domains. Think that you only have that domain and nothing else, you’ll be amazed that you can actually do a pretty good job of developing it.
