How to achieve higher PR for your domain name / website, TechFilipino is now PR 3

HowtogetPR3TechFilipinoDomainNamewebsite2 How to achieve higher PR for your domain name / website, TechFilipino is now PR 3I’ve been blogging since January 1, 2009 as I thought I wanted to write about my web 2.0 interests, as well as, other things that interested me online. It was a tough 7 months of writing and learning about my interests. TechFilipino has now achieved Google PageRank (PR) 3 and I’ve seen more traffic flow into this blog. Here’s how I achieved a higher PR ranking:

Update Regularly

One thing that I did was to update my blog on a daily basis (12 noon), well except one time that wordpress missed its schedule, but I did double post the next day. Many SEO experts debate about updating it all at one go or to update it daily, I believe in daily updating. Not only do search engines appreciate fresh content on a daily basis, but your readers as well. They would know when exactly to come visit for new content and it’s one post a day which is a lighter read.

Keyword Targetting

keywordtargettingPR3blogwebsitedomainname How to achieve higher PR for your domain name / website, TechFilipino is now PR 3– Hit 1 to 2 main keywords for your website / domain name –

At the beginning, I thought that I have so many topics that I wanted to write about (hence the long category bar on top). I’ve achieved PR 1 after 4 months which took a while, As I narrowed down my topics it got me to PR 2 in another 2 months. But the best was when I started focusing on website reviews and domain names, that I was able to increase my PR to 3 in less than 1 month. I recommend to research about the keywords that you are writing about and target the right keywords with the least competitors.

Label your images

This is what I believe most website and blog owners miss out, they would just upload pictures directly from their cameras. I suggest that every picture you upload you add the keyword (by renaming) from your post. I’ve received tons of traffic from people searching for pictures, and I guess that’s another thing why my PR increased.

Submit your website / domain name to other websites

Try to submit your website to as many “related” websites that you can find that allows submission. I’ve interacted in blogs, forums, submitted to directories, added links to social websites. What I suggest is go to Google and type the keyword that you’re after and submit your website or blog to all the resulting pages.

  1. Why now is a good time to develop your domain names | TechFilipino linked to this post on September 17, 2009

[...] Before, the trend was that whatever people thought of what they need, they’ll type in their address bar and end it with a .COM. Which was the rise of type-in traffic. Today, browsers are becoming a search engine somehow, as when you try to type in a word in the address bar it either directs you to the popular websites (like Wikipedia) or put you through to Search Engine Search Results. So what happens is type-in traffic is going down and Search Engines and Browsers are getting more of the traffic. What you’d need to do is focus your time in building up SEO. [...]

  2. Minisites do take time | TechFilipino linked to this post on October 9, 2009

[...] But it took a good 3 – 4 months to get decent traffic (that’s for a premium generic ccTLD). SEO is basically the key to get the ball [...]
