How is domain name investing doing

domain name investing investment How is domain name investing doingI’ve been investing on domain names since March 2009, since then I’ve learned the ins and outs of the business thanks to numerous tips and insights by the experts. I’m happy to say that it has been an “expensive” experience but cheaper if I was to do it in real properties. Domain Name Investing isn’t the easiest industry for people to really make money but it isn’t hard to enter…

… People think that its easy and doesn’t require effort, but I disagree, since I’ve started domain name investing and development, I’ve been working more than 12 hours a day. What took most of my time was domain name development, followed by reading domain news and looking for new domain name investment opportunity.

But how is domain name investing today? I noticed a lot (not all) of people have stopped or minimized their domain name buying and have focused their time on development. Either it is building minisites, portals etc, most of their time have been focused on that. Secondly, I noticed that most (again, not all) domainers are selling out some of their domain names to fund their developments or to make their investments more lean. This was due to the drop in domain name parking revenues and the decline of the economy. Third, Domain name registrations have dropped and the aftermarket sales increases. This is because people want quality than quantity, the higher the quality the more traffic and the more the revenues are.

I’m really enjoying domain name investing, its fun and you learn so much from building websites and buying domain names. The general knowledge on different domain name topics is just so rich that I learn something new each day. How’s your domain name investing experience?

    Hey

I was into Dotmobi then got out (only one .mobi site)

These days, with hardly any money, nothing in domaining makes me happier than finding a solid .com name still available.. I have been landing a few from Wikipedia clicking of terms..

I started domaining in January 1999 and the only one I have left from all those failures is FilipinoFood.com (which I now want to sell to promote site ideas in things I am really interested in doing, instead).. – There is just an “opportunity cost” in terms of TIME that I am forecasting for my future desired work online..

    Have a Special Day,

    Yelo

@Yelo: Good thing you got out of dotMobi early. FilipinoFood.COM looks great, don’t you have plans to develop it?

    Hi Francis,

I guess I would get better value long term if I held on to it..
For 10 years I tried to get a forum on it; though, I recently read that, especially these days, developers should try to have at least some site model plan producing revenue streams (like a fee or product).. Free sites are good for communication and networking but I may need to make a move with this for a minimalist living wage – Freedom. The issue I had struggled with is that Filipino Food isn’t a subject I have alot of passion to do.. So I guess I just need to find an employer for its usage..

For a living, I want to do something most special, instead..
(I only recently found it, registering “BiomedicalGerontology”)

    How are things for you?

Right, you know Filipino Food is a very attractive and interesting topic for a lot of people. With 22,200 exact searches, you’d never go wrong.

BiomedicalGerontology seems like a very technical term, not much searches though. How’s that coming along?

Things have been great, slowly getting enough traffic and ranking with the search engines.

    Hi

Yes I think you are right.. I guess I have just been confused and always need to be more grateful.. I guess I just need to find out what to do with it for all the people..

As for BiomedicalGerontology, as important as this is, I’ll try my best alongside..

    Have a good day,
    Yelo
