Domainers is to cyber squatter and Minisites is to Flogs? Bloggers point of view

Making money off websites and making money off domains isn’t the only lucrative markets online, there’s also the making money off blogging. Blogging is such a popular topic online, as a matter of fact there are more blogs that start than websites. But bloggers (most that I know of) regards domainers and our minisites as cyber squatters and flogs…
… Blogging is very popular because its very easy to setup (no coding knowledge required), a lot (Blogger, wordpress, typepad etc.) of Free blogging platforms are readily available and ready to publish in less than 5 minutes.
But not all bloggers understand what domaining is all about, like most brands that we hear about domainers, we’re usually associated with cyber squatting in their eyes (these are usually the first questions that I get). And now that domainers are moving towards development with the use of free CMS such as WordPress, the word “Flog†is starting to surface.
What is a FLOG?
Flog is what bloggers call “Fake Blogsâ€, these are our minisites that imitate a blog look but don’t really update and isn’t really a blog. This is simply because the themes and the looks of our minisites look very similar to theirs (same sources) and one burned visitor that sees their same design blog would leave their blogs straight away.
So how can we make peace with the online community?
One of the best way to do this is to make your minisite’s design quite different from a blog, you’ve got to make it feel like its an informational website than a blog. Or if you were really making it look like a blog then Add “valuable†content, make it useful for the readers and not just to please the search engines. It is really down to the quality than just quantity of posts. End of the day, the visitors that would make us money are humans and not bots or spiders.
Blog sites are fast becoming a trend in minisites but what we need to remember is that these are “blogs†and we do have to adhere to certain standards to give respect to the online community. If you were able to add value then you’ll find that visitors come to you more and that your website is shared amongst different people thru word of mouth.
