Domain Name Investment: How ccTLDs will rule the world

HowccTLDsaregoingtoruletheworld Domain Name Investment: How ccTLDs will rule the worldccTLDs are selling quite highly in domain name auctions, as a matter of fact, it is topping the sales. I’ve been preaching about the opportunities in ccTLDs, it will be, I believe the more stronger domain name than TLDs in the future. Here’s how ccTLDs are going to rule:

History

ccTLDdomainnameinvestmenthistory Domain Name Investment: How ccTLDs will rule the world– History repeating itself –

A few years back, TLDs costed around $30+ per year in registration but when premium domain names were gone, prices dropped to around $7+ per year. ccTLDs are still in the premium stage, where there are still premium domain names that we could invest on (not all countries though). When its all taken it’s going to drop registration costs, but the value for reselling is going to increase as well. The point here is that following historical patterns, ccTLDs are going to top the sales charts as Search Engines give them more value.

SEO

ccTLDs are great for localized Search Engine Optimization, this is because search engines give priority to ccTLDs over its international counterparts. For companies that have invested in TLDs, they’ll be forced to invest in ccTLDs or lose to ccTLDs of competitors in search results. My prediction is that in the next few years we’ll be noticing our search results will be dominated by ccTLDs in our own countries. So in the Philippines,  we’ll see more and more of .PH domain names popping up in search results.

Internet marketing

International commercial websites will want to partner up with local partners to lead visitors to their websites. For example, I partnered up with the guys from WorkoutBox in delivering WorkOut.PH in the Philippines which gave them more visitors from the Philippines and increased their SEO locally. I believe this is a great way for ccTLDs to grow, by getting direct advertisements from bigger websites abroad.

The future of ccTLDs lie in Search Engines, and the great thing is that they prioritize ccTLDs for the relevancy of contents to the local market. What’s important is to invest early and invest fast, it’s still an open opportunity that is soon going to go up in value and it might be too late to make a jump later.
