As I’ve been developing lots of domain names, one thing I really realized is that it gets really tough when the topic or subject of the domain name is not my interest. There were more work to be done researching and really writing contents than anything else. This is why I feel that Developing domain names requires passion and interest for the topic for it to be successful…
… Whether it is a minisite or a full blown web 2.0 website that you’re doing, there has to be passion and interest for the topic. Without passion or interest, you’d find that you’ll become lazy in continuing developing or don’t even know where and how to start. Passion and Interest is what really got me to stay and continue in this business of domaining.
– Passion or interest is what you need –
Take for example, TechFilipino, everyday I do get to update it with a new article. This is because I find domain names, web 2.0 and entrepreneurship a very interesting topic. When I developed minisites, I noticed how I was able to finish a certain minisite in less than a week with more unique and quality contents than the ones I wasn’t very interested with.
Without passion and interest, you could only push it to a certain extent. So how do I handle the other minisites that I don’t find interesting? I simply try to change my mindset that this is “ITâ€, it is the one that’ll make me millions one day and the mind follows. It is allowing our mind to learn about that certain topic and start to love it (Imagine when I had to write about breast pumps…).
So whenever you’re investing in domain names, starting up a web 2.0 website, blogging or whatever it is make sure that you set your mind to like it and make it interesting for you. Remember making money online could take a long while before you could “really†make money. So without passion and interest, you’d just give up and it would be such a waste.
