DailyBurn: Fitness With Challenges, Motivation and Workout programs; WorkoutBox Competitor

dailyburnlogo DailyBurn: Fitness With Challenges, Motivation and Workout programs; WorkoutBox CompetitorAt this present time, we’re all conscious about health and wellness. But if you go searching for great websites that supports this movement, what you’ll see are all body building exercises which doesn’t fit regular people. So here comes DailyBurn, it is a website that helps people to stay fit, it is a competitor to WorkoutBox (which I’ve featured before). What’s great about it…

… is that it doesn’t only focus on just working out, but it focuses on other aspects of fat burn. It is divided into five sections, which are the Workout Programs, Nutrition, Challenges, Motivation and Forum.

DailyBurn’s Workout programs are divided into programs that targets different fitness levels or goals. For each program, a user can join and do the following:

  • Log their stats on the exercises (with a graphical representation)
  • Show different exercises with detailed instructions
  • Comment
  • Add their own Workout programs

What’s nice about the Workout programs is that there are stats, which promotes competition between members which can be used to motivate them. Other users could view your stats and be able to comment on your performance.

What’s also nice is that in the nutrition section, it contains nutritional facts to give us an idea on what we eat. It has around 100+ pages of food information and can be useful especially for those looking to diet. One of the best features that I found is the challenges, where users can set a task. Tasks can be like the first to lose 20 pounds between users who joined. You can basically track other user’s progress and compete with each other to get hit the target that they’ve set. Users who got the challenges were given medals to show others that they were first to certain tasks.

The motivation is dedicated for people into creating their own groups and helping each other in achieving their fitness targets. It’s like a support group where users can discuss with other members about anything on achieving their goals. There’s also a forum section which is for Q&A with all members of the website and discuss publicly with other people.

Overall, I’m admiring the concept, the competition factor plays such a big factor to the users that keeps them coming back to the website for more and achieving their goals at the same time. There’s a slight difference with WorkoutBox, which is that this focuses on motivation, diet and workout as opposed to WorkoutBox focusing on just workouts (right now). The competitive factor of DailyBurn is surely appreciated by users which WorkoutBox is yet to have. However, WorkoutBox is more focused on workouts and contains a lot of workout information and even videos to help you do your workouts well. WorkoutBox is still developing, and still can catch up with diet and motivation factors. DailyBurn is doing great, it’s interesting to  see what WorkOutBox releases next and how both will be competing.
