I’ve been covering a lot of 3rd party Twitter applications lately and I found that Twitter is almost its own island. The service has grown so much that it has its own Analytics, job boards, etc. As Twitter gets more and more users and people getting more and more followers and interaction with the service, is it time to monetize our Twitter accounts? Be-A-Magpie is a service dedicated in making money out of your Twitter account. What’s great about it…
… is that monetizing is easy, all you do is setup an account with them and advertiser’s Tweets will be automatically placed in your Tweets (can be set to approval before showing). How it works…

– How Be-A-Magpie works –
Â
… is like the way Pay-per-click advertisements work, they match the advertiser with the Twitterer that holds the keywords that they have interest in advertising in. Once you’ve matched the right keywords with the advertiser, then you get the advertisement and get paid for Tweeting the advertisements. However, if 2 or more advertisers were looking for the same keyword, they automatically go into a bidding system. The highest bidder (advertiser) will pay the second highest bid and would be paying the amount set of CPM (Cost per 1 thousand impression or 1000 views) to the Twitter publisher.
Â
Twitter publishers can earn using this formula:
CPM cost (e.g. $10 for every one thousand) DIVIDED BY 1000 views MULTIPLIED BY the number of Friends
Â
Right now, People are going crazy about Twitter and usernames are even becoming scarce as people have started to register Twitter names to take advantage of the service and resell the usernames later. There are split views into using this service to monetize, however, it is about time people would start to capitalize or get rewarded on Twitter’s popularity and earn from sharing and interacting with other twitterers.
