Just when you thought laptops can’t go even cheaper than the market price, a new laptop called CherryPal Africa comes along and would start to sell cheap laptop for the price of $99 a piece! What’s interesting is that this will be the first laptop to start selling at $99, even if there has been prior announcements from other companies who are going to sell at the same time. Here’s what the Cherrypal Africa is all about…
… CherryPal as a company has always focused on bringing in cheap computers to the community, their focus is to target the developing countries and help them modernize (fill the gap) with the use of computers. They call the gap the “digital divide”, which have been a huge achievement for them for their new $99 Cherrypal Africa laptop.

The specs of CherryPal Africa seems to be similar to a netbook, to which they defined as mini-laptop. But it is enough to do day to day office tasks and surf the web which is the most common use. What’s really important is giving developing countries a chance to have computers cheaply and to give more people access. It would be nice to have people in the Philippines to have this laptops, it could certainly help us modernize quicker and embrace technology more. Good job CherryPal!
