I have been writing a lot about domain names / websites valuation tools and have been quite interested about the algorithms that calculate a domain name’s value. The question everyone asks is first, ‘How much is my Website / Domain Name worth?’; then they ask ‘How can I raise my Website / Domain Name’s value?’. So I’ve listed my top 4 suggestions:
Traffic
– How much traffic is your website / domain name getting? –
One of the biggest factor that website / domain name value calculators measure is traffic, and to increase traffic means doing these things: The biggest traffic referrer is Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization, SEO), without them it would be quite touch getting people to find out about your website / domain name. Optimizing your website / Domain name (if parked) is to target specific relevant keywords that is related to your domain name. You should also visit other websites, like blogs and forums, and leave your link there (make sure that it is related to your website / domain name). Get as much inbound links as you can and give outbound links to only quality websites (Spam websites takes away your SEO points). Website owners / Domainers say that traffic is directly proportional to profit, so by increasing your profit, it increases your domain name’s value.
Development
– Develop your website / domain name —
The best way to increase your website / domain name’s value is by development, by creating original contents within the website. Contents must be original to get plus points with search engines, if it was duplicate there’s a possibility of a ban from the search engines. Development allows you to earn from advertisements or affiliate marketing, by increasing your earnings, the higher your website / domain name value becomes.
Age
– They age quite well –
Â
Domain names / websites are like wine. the older they are the finer it becomes (search engines believe so anyways) . So the older the domain name is, the higher the value becomes. So develop your website, even as a minisite (a website with a few pages with a few articles), and leave it to age, as it gets SEO it gets higher in Value.
TLD / CCTLD / Related Collaboration
– TLD or CCTLD? –
Â
If you were using TLD (Top Level Domain names), make sure to speak to related domain names owners and discuss plans on collaboration or development of their parked domain name. The more people become aware about your topics the hotter it becomes in searches and more visitors would come and the higher value your domain name can get.
If it was a CCTLD (Country Code Top Level Domain Names), you’d have to raise awareness for the use of the domain name in their countries by collaborating and developing the domain names to, instead of parking, to sensible websites.
The bottom line is that the more people use the domain name suffix (like .COM or .PH) the more it increases in value as a whole. This is what I’m doing with my PH domain names, I’m raising awareness and trying to gather all domainers together to encourage each other to develop our domain names.
